The Foam Masters scheme ensures that contractors installing our products are fully trained and supported by our technical team.
Contractors must attend courses at our training centre in BASF Alfreton, and on completion, the contractor’s details are entered onto our database.

Our technical team assist contractors to ensure compliance with installation methodology and to offer advice on correct application in accordance with product certification, national building regulations, codes of practice and best practice.
Technical queries from contractors, architects and specifiers are dealt with by our office based team and on site by our external representatives.

U- Value / Condensation Analysis
A u-value (thermal transmittance value) is the measurement of the rate of heat transfer through an element (roof, wall, floor) divided by the difference in temperature from one side to the other and is measured in W/m2k.
Current technical guidance document TGD Part L (Ireland) minimum backstop requirements are as follows
- Roof (insulated along the rafters) 0.16 W/m2k
- Roof (insulated along the ceiling joists) 0.16 W/m2k
- Walls 0.18 W/m2k
- Ground Floors 0.18 W/m2k
- Flat Roof 0.20 W/m2k
A condensation risk analysis is carried out to establish the likelihood of interstitial condensation in your roof or wall or floor build-up.
Such assessments are regularly required by architects, engineers, building control inspectors and building owners to demonstrate compliance with building regulation requirements.
In order to make an assessment we firstly input material data and a construction arrangement into a third party software. We then choose a building type an location. The software them predicts the condensation development and accumulation over a 12 month period based on historic weather data for that area for that specific construction detail.
Calculations are performed free of charge.
Measurements / Costings
Our technical team can carry out measurement take-offs on requests as part of the costings exercise. Please submit technical drawings in either .pdf or .dwg format to [email protected] . A member of our team will revert with measurements and foam insulations costings.
A site visit can be arranged and conducted by a team member or a Foam Master contractor at a time that suits.
